A Mothers love by JOEYDES A Mothers love by JOEYDES
:iconanthrocommunity: is hosting a monthly contest. This month celebrates Mother's Day with the theme "A Mother's Love". The group looks cool and with only a few days left to enter I thought Why not...I like deadlines. Was going to go more beak faced anthro, but it's real hard to convey happiness with a beak....lol
Thanks for watching!

It's just so beautiful! The creatures themselves are unique, and the emotion is clear. Well done!

Very cute and nicely colored. Great poses!
Yeah, I can see it being pretty hard to show emotion with a beak if you never done beaks before or have never studied birds. If you wanted to try to convey happiness with a beak, you usually have to use the back part of the beak where the jaw connects to show any emotion (like give the back part a bit of a human smile) and rely heavily on the eyes. And sometimes the feathers can show emotion depending on the bird. I have used beaks a lot since I draw a lot of gryphon and bird characters.
